Bring the agricultural classroom to your community event with CAM’s Classroom. Short, high-impact lessons lasting just 5–15 minutes. These engaging, hands-on experiences are designed to be fun, accessible, and spark meaningful connections between participants, the farm, and their food. Lessons are developed and delivered by Colorado State University students, faculty, and partners.
CAM’s On the Road partners with communities to create customized agricultural learning experiences that fit seamlessly into your event. Whether it’s a county fair, an elementary school “Ag Day,” or a local farm celebration, we’ll work with you to develop and deliver engaging activities—like scavenger hunts, hands-on lessons, and live demonstrations that connect learners to agriculture in fun and meaningful ways. Our specialty is turning any ag-focused event into an opportunity for impactful education, designed with your audience and goals in mind.
Our badging programs are used to motivate and incentivize youth to explore agriculture through our CAM's hands-on learning. Participants earn their badges by completing fun, age-appropriate activities that build agricultural knowledge and leadership skills—one experience at a time!
Transforming learners to leaders. A unique and powerful part of our On the Road programs is the opportunity for interested students to step into peer teaching roles, learning how to effectively communicate agricultural topics to their peers and communities. These youth become part of our CAM’s Ag Literacy Leader team. Training happens on-site through our signature “I teach, you teach, we teach” model, which fosters confidence, collaboration, and leadership in agricultural education.
Each summer, CAM’s On the Road partners with Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom to bring the annual Literacy Project to communities across the state. This unique program shares the stories of Colorado agriculture—featuring topics like Pueblo chilis, Palisade peaches, and the legacy of Dr. John Matsushima, through engaging storytelling and hands-on learning. Every county or program visited by CAM’s On the Road receives a Literacy Project book and activity kit free of charge. Learners of all ages get the chance to explore the year’s featured topic. Each of the lessons below is an original work created by CAM’s Ag Academy, proudly developed by our faculty and CSU student staff to explore key facets of our agricultural system. These lessons are aligned with relevant educational guidelines such as the National Agricultural Literacy Outcomes (NALOs), 4-H Life Skills, and Colorado K–12 Academic Standards. Designed for flexibility, they can be used in a variety of settings and with learners of all ages.
